I had the pleasure of photographing the most beautiful United States Naval Academy military retirement ceremony for our wonderful friends in Annapolis, MD. We were stationed together in Italy and our children began their friendships while attending school. Now that we are on the East Coast together, it’s a treat to be able to catch up and also celebrate milestones!!!
Pete’s retirement was truly special as it took place at the United States Naval Academy, the very place where he started his military career. One of the most moving parts was seeing all of their children involved in the ceremony.
Their boys participated in the ceremonial tradition of the passing of Old Glory. The Flag was then passed to their father, who then presented it to his wife.
Their girls laid beautiful floral bouquets near the American Flag during the Memorial Presentation, honoring our fallen heroes. Perfectly fitting as the ceremony took place in Memorial Hall.
It was extremely touching. Not a dry eye folks!
