Living in a beautiful place like Washington DC, it’s easy to understand why so many of my clients choose iconic locations for their senior photo sessions. With that said, I always love when I get to shoot an urban portrait session, just to change things up!
When we started to plan the details of Madelyn’s shoot, we decided the best plan was to meet at one location and then walk around to see what else we could find nearby, like a photowalk. The great thing about shooting like this is that we can typically find a ton of hidden gems! This was definitely the case for Madelyn’s session.
Though I have driven through the area a couple of times, this was my first High School Senior session in Georgetown! After snapping a few shots along the sidewalk, we decided to start exploring the other areas nearby. We found some amazing places that we couldn’t see from the street. It was so much fun!
This is such a busy area that we opted to start our session at sunrise, and I’m so glad we did! The soft morning light, quieter streets, and peaceful setting gave us plenty of time to explore and snap away without distractions.
