George Washington’s Mount Vernon is a beautiful location for a family session. You could spend a whole day exploring the gardens, the fields, the mansion, and the Potomac waterfront.
For this session, we focused on one of Mount Vernon’s hidden gems: the Gristmill, located just down the road from the main estate. The family will be moving soon and they wanted the location to be extra special and meaningful. What better place than the Grist Mill!
Because it’s the busy season, we waited until the last tour of the day took place and proceeded with our session before the grounds closed. It was nice to have the grounds kind of to ourselves and have an easy, relaxed session.
I only wish this stunning location was open all year long. Every corner is a dream for natural, timeless portraits!
